Care

Here is our care guide – read on for tips on how to wash and look after your clothes to prolong their lifespan.

At NAGO, we use durable, high quality fabrics. We see this as the foundation of sustainable fashion. With appropriate care, our clothes will last years. It may seem complicated, but it really is an easy task – check our care advice below.

1.  Wash only when absolutely necessary.

Frequent washing causes damage to your clothes. Sometimes it’s enough to air your clothes to freshen them up, we recommend spot cleaning to remove stains.

2.  Wash your clothes inside out if using a washing machine to preserve the intensity of color.

Fasten all snaps and zips to prevent damage to other clothes.

3.  Lower temperatures are better both for your garments and for the environment.

We recommend low temperatures (up to 30º C) and low spin cycles. Avoid tumble-drying your clothes to prevent damage to the fabrics and to save energy.

4.  Don’t overload.

Overloading the washing machine increases water and electricity usage and lowers the efficacy of washing and rinsing. Fill the washing machine to 75% capacity for optimal results.

Tencel™ (205g/m2)

• We recommend using low temperatures for our Tencel™ dresses.

• If you need to iron your clothes, do it inside-out, using a moist cotton press cloth and a low temperature setting. You can also use a steamer.

Tencel™ (288g/m2)

• Our  Tencel™ trousers are best washed by hand, in cold water, using a delicate detergent (you can also use shampoo!) Once you’ve rinsed and gently pressed out any excess water,  lay flat on a towel and allow to dry.

• If necessary, iron inside-out, using a moist cotton press cloth and a low temperature setting. You can also use a steamer.

Ecovero™

• Wash Ecovero™ products at low temperatures.

• If necessary, iron using a moist cotton press cloth and a low temperature setting. You can also use a steamer.

• Any natural piling that occurs can be removed with a fabric shaver.

Cupro

• We recommend cold water hand washing for all cupro products.Use a mild detergent or your favorite hair shampoo.

• Once you’ve rinsed and gently pressed any excess water, lay flat on a towel and allow to dry.

• Cupro is resistant to wrinkling and does not require ironing.

Cashmere

Cashmere, is a very delicate, soft-feel, warm fabric. Our cashmere knitwear contains at least 65% of recycled cashmere. This doesn’t affect the quality or value of the product, but it does dramatically decrease its environmental cost, reducing the damage from production by around 80%. How can you make sure it lasts you for years?

1. Only wash cashmere by hand.It is the safest way of preventing any damage to the delicate fibres. Fill a laundry basin with cold water and add a small amount of wool detergent. If you don’t have any, a delicate hair shampoo will do! 🙂

2. Immerse your jumper in cold water, rather than rub, try gently pressing it down. The bath shouldn’t last too long, 5 minutes is enough.

3. Rinse using cold water, then fold it and gently press any excess water out. Make sure not to twist the garment to avoid stretching & misshaping. 😓

4 . Lay the garment flat on a towel and roll it just like you would a sleeping bag to absorb any excess of water left. It will dry quicker. Then, lay the jumper flat on a dry towel and let it dry naturally.

More than in-vogue designs and patterns, what really matters to us is the fabrics’ origins, the methods of production and the conditions in which, thanks to all-important human labour, it is transformed into the final product.

We make clothes that look good and will make you feel good. Choosing NAGO you are making the best choice for not only yourself but also for our planet.

Greasy stains? Use home-made starch wash!

Cover the stain with a small amount of potato flour and, using a soft cloth, rub it gently into the fabric until the stain disappears. And it will disappear, trust us.

Salt for red wine or tomato sauce stains.

Remove stains from your favorite red with a bit of salt! Sprinkle it on the stain and leave it to absorb the red tint. Then, put the garment in cold water for an hour. Next, wash in the machine. Be quick!

Vinegar and bicarbonate of soda for deodorant stains.

To remove the yellow deodorant stains from your garments’ armpits, make a vinegar and bicarbonate of soda paste. Use 2 measures of vinegar to 3 measures of soda. Cover the stains with this mixture, leave for an hour and put it into a machine wash.
